Bimini Road, stones submerged off the coast of the Bahamas said by some to be a man-made wall some 10,000 to 20,000 years old. It is part of body of evidence some say show prehistoric civilizations were far more advanced than conventional science is willing to admit. (Shutterstock*)
A mysterious, circular structure, with a diameter greater than the length of a Boeing 747 jet, has been discovered submerged about 30 feet (9 meters) underneath the Sea of Galilee in Israel.
Scientists first made the discovery by accident in 2003 using sonar to survey the bottom of the lake but published their findings only recently.
Amid controversy the Yonaguni monument is a submerged rock formation that is thought to be the remnants of a 10,000 year old Japanese civilization. It was discovered by Dive Tour operator Kihachiro Aratake in 1985. Masaaki Kimura a marine geologist at the university of RyuKyus in Japan has spent fifteen years diving amid the Yonaguni anomaly. Kimura over these years has come to the conclusion that this monument is most definitely human made. According to Kimura, “The largest structure (Yonaguni monument) looks like a complicated, monolithic, stepped pyramid that rises from a depth of 25 meters [82 feet]”. The structure itself looks a lot like a ziggurat, a type of structure found throughout the world in Latin American pyramids and Middle Eastern cities such as Ur. However this construction is not alone. Alongside the monument ten other structures have been found on Yonaguni, including a castle, five temple-like structures, and what seems to be a huge stadium. What is more interesting is that all of these structures are connected by roads and water lines.
Gobekli Tepe has been dubbed ‘the world’s oldest temple’. This archaeological site is located 6 miles from Urfa, an ancient city in southeastern Turkey. Based on radiocarbon dating techniques, this structure is over 11,000 years old, which astonishing, because it means that Gobekli Tepe is 6,000 years older than Stonehenge.
A recent carbon dating performed on a pyramid in Bosnia, proves it to be at least 25 thousand years old.
Most scientists and historians however believe that human civilization started about 5,000 years ago with the Sumerians and Babylonians. That is, until artifacts were found, which predate them. These discoveries suggest, that there was a prehistoric civilization around the world — one that must have been highly advanced.
