10. Kapitel: Die Hölle
1
Da nahmen mich die beiden
und trugen mich in des Himmels Norden.
Dort zeigten sie mir einen fürchterlichen Ort.

Dort war Finsternis und Nebel,
keinerlei Licht,
nur Feuer und Flammen.
Und Finsternis senkt sich auf jenen Ort.
Dort gibt es nur Frost, Eis und Kerker.
Und grausame, mitleidlose Engel tragen Waffen
und peinigen unbarmherzig.

Ich sprach:
Wie fürchterlich ist dieser Ort!
Da sagten die beiden zu mir:
Henoch! Dieser Ort ist für die Unehrlichen bereitet,
die auf Erden Gottloses tun.
Sie treiben Zauberei und Beschwörung
und rühmen sich ihrer Werke.

Sie stehlen heimlich Menschenseelen,
lösen ein bindendes Joch,
werden reich durch Gewalttat von fremdem Gut.
Sie, die sättigen könnten,
töten die Darbenden durch Hunger;
sie, die Nackte bekleiden könnten,
ziehen sie vollends ganz aus.

Sie erkannten nicht ihren Schöpfer,
sondern beteten eitle Götter an.
Für alle diese ist dieser Ort bereitet
zum ewigen Erbbesitz.
